River Center Library, Baton Rouge

Date of Sketch: October 6, 2012

This pre-Concept was very early in the design process with little programmatic content. The site, sketched at the top of page, is basically square, and the building at the bottom depicts a raised structure which provides maximum shade in a hot, sunny and rainy environment. The Library, now under construction, still retains its raised form and sheltering lower floor to provide a canopy above a shaded civic open space.
